FALLING TOWARDS WINTER
Gleaming through this quiet morning — Poetry by Lorraine Caputo
FALLING TOWARDS WINTER
By Lorraine Caputo Grey velveteen clouds drape above this landscape falling towards winter’s waiting grasp Icy rain splatters upon ochre-colored fallow fields & scattered carmine leaves ~ An icy wind swirls damp leaves across the blue sky in swift strides a deer runs across the rain-greened field into autumn woods ~ Across a clearer sky five gleaming crows chase a hawk through this quiet morning Cold snaps life-fluid flowing through veins of plants now golden & russet
Wandering troubadour Lorraine Caputo is a poet, translator and travel writer. Her works appear internationally in over 500 journals and 24 collections of poetry – including In the Jaguar Valley (Dancing Girl Press). She also authors travel narratives, articles and guidebooks. She is a Best of the Net and Pushcart Prize nominee. She journeys through Latin America with her faithful knapsack Rocinante, listening to the voices of the pueblos and Earth.
