FIVE HAIKU
By Miriam Sagan gnarled apricot tree in blossom—so many climbing children overcast morning nuthatches scavenge—I fear my own country salmon spawning red I’m almost embarrassed to watch sequoia grove we lower our voices in conversation tiny goathead thorn I write in my gratitude journal
